Global Treatment – Getting the best treatment from around the world
With serious illnesses like cancer and heart conditions becoming all too common, it’s only natural that you would want the most accurate diagnosis possible and access to the very best advice and treatment.
Friends Life introduced an additional option to their Protect+ policies a few months ago. It gives you the option, at an additional premium, to fly you and your children to the high quality specialists and treatment from around the world. It will arrange and pay for you to get to a hospital of your choosing, in the UK or overseas, depending on what best suits your personal needs.
The Friends Life Global Treatment plan covers you and your children if diagnosed with a serious illness requiring treatment for:
- Cancer
- Coronary artery bypass surgery
- Heart valve replacement or repair
- Neurosurgery
- Live-donor organ transplant
- Bone marrow transplant
Global Treatment then pays for:
- An expert second medical opinion
- Treatment by a specialist
- Hospitalisation costs
- Travel and accommodation costs for you and a companion, or if your child is ill both parents (or a parent and a companion) if your child is ill, for the duration of hospitalisation overseas.
- Cash allowance of £100 per day of hospitalisation overseas (for up to 60 days)
